There are many things we can do to make the world a better place for the next generations.

One important step is to address climate change by reducing our carbon footprint and transitioning to renewable energy sources. We can also work towards greater equality and social justice by advocating for policies that support marginalized communities and by promoting inclusivity and diversity. Additionally, we can strive to create a more sustainable future by reducing waste and by protecting natural resources.

Another key aspect is to promote education and support the growth and development of young people, as they will be the ones to inherit the world and shape its future.

Finally, it is important to foster a sense of global citizenship and encourage people to think beyond their own self-interest in order to create a more compassionate and cooperative world.

How can we build a tolerant society?”

We live in a world where simple concepts such as “respect”, “equality”, “justice” or “tolerance” are yet to be implemented in a lot of individuals’ vocabulary despite how straightforward this should be. However, one of these concepts stands out in how simple it is to follow tolerance and that is because being tolerant is as simple as letting people be and act as they want, as long as it does not affect others, of course; therefore, it really leaves me flabbergasted how it is still so predominant in the society we live in.

But how can this major issue be fixed?

Tolerance should be engraved on young generations as soon as possible because, if one grows tolerant, there’s no need to worry, because not only will they, themselves, be tolerant but, most importantly, they´ll teach those values to their offspring.

Of course, it is also never too late to become tolerant, which is why we should make use of the best weapon given to people – communication. By communicating we can change mentalities and that can be done by acting out when we witness acts of intolerance in our day-to-day lives and not just stand there, fully aware of the problem but not having the courage to act.

To sum up, in order to attain tolerance, it is crucial not only to teach the younger generation this concept, making them grow up tolerant, but also imposing it on intolerant people through communication.

What does it mean to have human rights?

Tolerance is the key to a bright, new future. What will you do to attain it?

Unfortunately it is necessary to answer these kinds of questions because the truth is that it is urgent to find an answer to a problem as serious as the future of future generations. When I look back I remember this question being asked many times by teachers but in a different way. Basically, every year we need to think about how urgent it is to do something, so that our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren won’t live in such a cold world as the present one. The answer is inconclusive. I cannot present just one topic or say “we have to be better people”, because in that case I would be worse than a pessimist, I would be unrealistic and futile.

The truth is that as much as we want to, we can’t pretend that it’s nothing to do with us or that things will only happen in a distant future. The world should evolve as well as technology. People should evolve and so should old houses that become mansions. Selfishness should disappear as well as hypocrisy, wars, racism, homophobia and chauvinism. Why in the 21st century do we still hear about these terms? Shouldn’t they belong to the past?

My point is: I honestly don’t know how to give future generations a bright future because that brightness is overshadowed by the wickedness of the world and the people who live in it. I can’t see it.

The hypocrisy of people can be so great that we think  not knowing what to wear is a problem, when in fact hunger, thirst, poverty, discrimination are the real problems.

Where are the people in charge of improving the world? You ask. They are in classrooms sitting around thinking: “why do we have to write the same things over and over again ?” and thinking it’s just unnecessary work.

The good starts with small actions, actions that are able to make a difference. It all starts with the way we think and then the way we act.  Where do we start? I don’t know, I think we should just start. It’s always better than being pessimistic or unrealistic, right?

Being in our comfort zone is what feels most pleasant, I realize. But isn’t it also nice to know that we might be responsible for the fact that the world is changing?  Do you think we can’t change the world? Then tell me why there are personalities who acted alone and managed to become world-renowned for doing good.

Is it not our laziness speaking louder? The truth is certain and this I cannot deny: I don’t know what to do to achieve this brilliance that the author mentions.

However, I don’t mind trying to find out, and I’m proud of that and of all the small actions I practice. Who knows if I’m not making a difference?…

A bright , new future

We all want a bright and perfect future for ourselves, our future kids, our friends, and our family but not everyone seems to be doing anything about it. Our future is not only about the perfect job or the perfect house, as some people don’t even have access to basic things such as food, shelter, or even education. The future is not just about these types of things, we also need respect for one another, we need to accept that everyone is different and beautiful in their own way. We can’t be judgemental for things like religion, sexuality, gender. We must fight for equality, our rights and hopes for a brighter future.

The world can’t be based on negativity. We need to be more inclusive and open minded and most importantly we must start taking actions to change the world’s perspective about human rights. By taking the right measures, we can assure a safer and hopeful future for the next generations, where everyone is able to express their ideas, thoughts, and themselves, without any fear.
